Float Like A Butterfly: Bee Set to Empower Busy Women This Fall
Femme Publications announced earlier this month that Bee magazine will hit newsstands this fall. A self-proclaimed blend of SmartMoney , Newsweek and Marie Claire, Bee is aimed at college-educated women earning upwards of $55,000 between the ages of 25-45. Celine Gumbiner, the 24-year-old CEO and co-founder, wanted a magazine that spoke to young female professionals. "Newsstands are devoid of magazines addressing topics necessary for women in a modern world," says Gumbiner. "Bee is for the busy, curious, fun and savvy woman." Initial circulation for the magazine is 100,000 with plans to double by the end of its fourth year. Bee, with a $5.95 cover price, will launch as quarterly with plans to go monthly by 2007.
